Since I have figured out which portable ice fishing hut I will be purchasing in the next year I thought I would turn my attention to a high quality flasher to add to my ice fishing gear. To that end I started in earnest to find the best price on the Vexilar FL20 flasher. For those of you that are not well versed in the Vexilar world, the FL20 is the top of the line flasher from Vexilar. It includes an adjustable zoom and a target separation of 1/2 inch. It basically is the pimp daddy of flashers (along with the Marcum LX-5) and since I am on the water all the time I want to upgrade my equipment. Over at Amazon the best price was $519 and Cabelas was apparently sold out. Same with the majority of other online retailers. I had seen them in the past at local brick and mortar establishments for a similar price to Amazon, but would prefer to save a bit of dough. The best price I could find was at Ebay and it came in a $449. Not a bad discount. Now I need to compare the prices of the Marcum LX-5 and double that against the features available on both. I plan to have a new flasher with my for next year's ice.
