When you are ice fishing crappie the simple truth is that you need to be able to move around a lot. Not only will these fish normally be suspended in the water column over deep water, the school moves around a general area throughout the day. If you want to continue to catch fish you had better be willing to move. Given that as a backdrop you need to have a ton of holes predrilled to truly have any chance of moving around effectively.
